WHAT ARE WAIST BEADS?       

Waist beads are body adornments used for centuries originating in Africa. Each strand is made up of colorful glass seed beads and if you get opulent style then they can include charms, crystals, jewels.

WHY DO PEOPLE WEAR WAIST BEADS?

People wear waist beads for a variety reasons including: body adornment, cultural heritage, spiritual healing, to show growth and maturity, and weight management. Waist beads help us with our unconditional love for self. 

WHO CAN WEAR WAIST BEADS?

Everyone and Anyone who is ready to celebrate oneself ❤️

ARE THEY PERMANENT?

These are traditional tie on waist beads. Once they are properly tied on they cannot be untied and removed. If you want them to be removed some people tie them in a way that they can undo the knot. I do not make waist beads with clasp. They come off if you cut them or they break on their own. Because of the durability of the string I use they aren’t easily broken.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE TO GET?

1. Grab a tape measure

2. Lift your shirt or lower bottoms for a more accurate measurement. Make sure you are resting naturally and not sucking your stomach in. Sucking in your stomach or measuring over clothes can make an incorrect measurement. 

3. Wrap the tape measure (inches side) around the area you would like the waist beads to sit.  You can choose whether you want them fitting or a little loose.

*for those who are using the beads for accountability/weight management you will want to tie them higher up above your mid waist. If your beads are dropping that signals weight loss and if they are rising then that signals weight gain.

What lengths do you have?

Standard size 50 inches (Approx. pant size 0-18)

Extended size 60 inches (Approx. pant size 18-24)

Extended size 70 inches  (Approx. pant size 26 +)

* Some older strands don’t come in extended sizes, if you are interested in one that doesn’t come in extended size please message me and if i still have the beads to make them then we can do a custom order.
